Agricast will continue its focus on offering high-quality parts at affordable prices at LAMMA 2020, with the launch of a new high strength scraper for use on Simba machines.
The Lincolnshire manufacturer of replacement wearing parts will be showcasing the improved scraper on Stand 20.416 in Hall 20 at the NEC next month (January 2020).
Suitable for use on Simba SL and DTX machines, Agricast’s new scraper has been developed in response to the high number of enquiries received from farmers whose scrapers have buckled or twisted in use.
As well as being stronger, the new scraper has been designed to clean in between rings and working shoulders.
Agricast’s dual U Bolts ensure the new scraper perfectly fits existing scraper rails.
Fabricated from reinforced 15mm thick steel, and trialled on farms across the UK, the new scraper has been designed to perfectly fit existing scraper rails with the use of dual U Bolts, which are supplied with the scraper arm.
A 6mm thick Hardox scraper blade has also been developed for use with the new arm.
Priced at £30 for the arm and U-Bolts and £7.50 for the blade, Agricast’s new scraper is considerably better value than the OEM counterpart.
The new scraper is designed to work in tandem with the Agricast PRR-610-LW wheel, which was launched in late 2019.
With LW standing for Light Weight, the new wheel is designed for use on any machine using the original Simba Lite rings arranged on 273mm diameter steel tubes. William Robinson, Agricast’s General Manager, says the new PRR-610-LW is compatible with original parts and offers greater durability than the original equivalent part.
“We’ve worked very hard to engineer a new wheel that offers exceptional value for money combined with the highest quality and longevity,” he says. “Our tests showed that the PRR-610-LW performed extremely well in the most difficult of conditions this year.”
A third new product, a range of Pro-Lift Points, which offer exceptional durability through the use of Tungsten Carbide and hard facing completes Agricast’s LAMMA launch suite.
The Heavy Duty Pro-Lift Point, which is designed to fit Simba Pro-Lift legs, is substantially broader on the front end and over a kilo heavier than Agricast’s range of standard points.
“We’ve taken our standard point, which is an extremely popular part, and added extensive Tungsten Carbide and hard facing to it. We’ve also made the point slightly wider and heavier. The result is a replacement part that has proved incredibly resilient in tests. We hope it will be a popular choice,” concludes William.
Established in 1987 and based on the family’s Lincolnshire farm, Agricast is the UK’s leading Cambridge roll ring specialist and also supplies a wide range of press rings, disc blades and subsoiler wear parts. The company also offers bespoke alterations and fabrication services.
