Agricast has introduced a new heavy-duty press bearing, offering over twice the dynamic rating of existing bearings.
The leading supplier of replacement wearing parts developed the new bearing over the last 18 months following regular requests from customers seeking a more robust solution than the standard greaseable or fully sealed units.
Agricast’s heavy-duty bearing is designed to fit the company’s PRR packer assemblies and is also backwards compatible with many Simba machines using the popular Double Disc packer.
With a price point of £125 to £150, depending on order quantities, the new bearing offers considerable advantages and saving compared to OEM parts.
As well as an improved dynamic range, Agricast’s heavy-duty press bearing offers better dust sealing and features thicker steel plates combined with additional rivets.
The heavy-duty press bearing is available now, and a fully-sealed version with six sealing lips will be introduced later in the year for customers wanting a ‘fit and forget’ offering.
“We believe that the new Agricast heavy duty press bearing sets the gold standard,” says William Robinson, Managing Director at Agricast. “Standard bearings were developed over 20 years ago, and we’ve seen very little innovation since then other than the introduction of sealed for life bearings several years ago. We think our new bearing is the best available and we are so confident in them that we are offering a no quibble three-year warranty against any breakages.
“The first of our new bearings were fitted to an 8m Simba cultipress with PRR-610 rings as part of a refurbishment for an Essex farmer. We’re confident they will be popular with people looking for the best combination of price and performance.”
