A UK supplier of specialist replacement wearing parts has added a new product to its popular range of low disturbance points.
Agricast introduced its Grass Land Xtra (GLX) Point in December 2020, and within less than a year, it became the company’s fastest-selling product.
This month, the Lincolnshire-based company responded to customer demand by introducing the GLX Ultra Point, the toughest, strongest, and most resilient point in the range.
The new point features Tungsten Chip Hard Facing on the shin, a large Tungsten Tile on the nose, Tungsten Tiles on the leading edge of the wings, and high chrome hard facing on the nose and wings.
“The last couple of years have been particularly challenging for farmers with prices rising dramatically across the board,” says William Robinson, Agrcast’s managing director. “When it comes to wearing metal, we’ve listened to our customers who are looking for the best combination of price, value for money and durability. We’ve designed the new GLX Ultra Point to be strong, resilient, and attractively priced.”
The GLX Ultra Point, which is 245 mm high, 260 mm long, 115 mm wide, and weighs 5.50 kg, is available now at a special launch price of just £89.70 each.
Since introducing the GLX range, Agricast has also offered a conversion service, which has seen Will and his team convert more than 20 different machines to run the GLX point, including Cousins V-Form, Gregoire Besson Discordon, Heva Evolution, Horsch Terrano, McConnel Shakaerator, and Simba DTX, with all owners looking for an economical lower-disturbance alternative to the OEM-wearing metal.
One farmer who has been pleased with how Agricast’s GLX points have performed is Thomas Witter of R and J Witter Farms in North Lincolnshire. In fact, as well as using the original Agricast GLX point, Thomas was the first customer to order the new GLX Ultra. “We have used Agricast’s GLX points on 350 acres, and the point and wings are still in very good condition. They’ve surpassed any expectations we had, and they’re fantastic value for money, especially when you compare them to some OEM points we used—they only did 100 acres, and we’re totally worn!” said Thomas.
